FBI wanted display panels mounted along a museum exhibit wall.

From Concept to Execution we make a Space tell its own Story.

Environmental graphics that turn walls, glass and floors into an immersive experience.

EPI-Colorspace designs, prints and installs murals, glass films, floor graphics and interior wayfinding for museums, universities and school, commercial real estate and corporate environments across the DMV. We work with the architecture rather than over it, and we install without closing the building.

For over 20 years, EPI-Colorspace has been a trusted partner for graphics that have to live inside a working building.

We specialize in transforming a wide variety of spaces, from museums and universities and school to commercial real estate and corporate environments, into dynamic, immersive brand experiences. Environmental graphics are the layer that makes a room legible: where you are, whose space this is and what happens here.

The craft is in the survey. Wall texture, glass mullions, floor sealer and light all decide the material before the artwork does, which is why our installs hold up years after the reveal.

Four surfaces that change how a space reads.

Most programs use two or three of these together, scoped floor by floor so the budget follows the traffic.

A fresh look for your space, planned around your day.

From the first visit to the final check, we guide you through each step. We plan the work with your team to keep disruption to a minimum.

Start Your Project

  1. Tell us what you want to change

Show us the space and explain what you want it to do. We check the walls, windows or floors and recommend graphics that suit your needs.

  2. Plan how it will look

We work out where each graphic will go, taking doors, corners and everyday use into account. You can review the layout before we move ahead.

  3. Review a printed sample

We show you a sample on the material we plan to use, so you can see how the colors and finish will look in your space.

  4. We make your graphics

Our team prints and prepares the approved designs for your space. We check the finished pieces before they leave our headquarters.

  5. Choose a convenient installation time

We coordinate with your team to find a suitable time, including evenings, weekends or one area at a time where needed. We protect the space and clean up after the work.

  6. Check the finished space together

We walk through the completed work with you, answer questions and explain how to care for your graphics. We keep your artwork on file for future updates.

Graphics that work for the people using the building every day.

An environmental program is judged on a Tuesday afternoon, not at the reveal. These are the tests we design against.

  • Legibility first: Type sized for the real viewing distance, with contrast that holds under the lighting already installed.
  • Durable where it is touched: Heavier laminates at corridor corners, elevator lobbies and any surface within arm's reach.
  • Reversible where it matters: Removable films in leased space, documented so the wall comes back clean at the end of the term.
  • Made to change: Artwork, dimensions and materials kept on file, so a reprint is a service call rather than a new project.

Answers before you take it to facilities.

The questions building and marketing teams ask us most, answered plainly.

Lightly textured drywall takes conformable film well. Heavy orange peel, knockdown and block need either a specialty conformable media or a skim coat first. We test a sample on your wall before committing the whole program.

“I wanted to send my appreciation and BRAVOS to you and your team for such an amazing visual presence at our new space…IT PROVIDED THE WOW FACTOR WE WERE LOOKING FOR!”

Tell us which surfaces you are looking at.

Send a floor plan, a scope or a photo of the wall. We bring visions to life, and we will tell you honestly what the surface and your schedule allow.
